I need an honest answer here.. In my click clack i will be keeping my hatchi diamond python, now i know the warm end should be around 28 deegrees and cool end 25 ish.. in the click clack should i be trying to achieve these temps for ground temp or air temp because i have a 20 watt heat matt and on the warm end im getting a ground reading of 32 and only 25.6 air temp on warm side

please help

ground temp is where it will be lying so get the temp good there and the rest should be fine.
remember the air temp in the hide will be hire than the rest of the click clack.

thanks for that coz 666, any other opinions. pls feel free to post because i will be picking up my diamond on sunday so i wanna get this right ????

sorry do you mean the temps should be higher ?? BUMP peoples

sorry i mean the spelling of hire should be higher.
.
i have my hatcho's in click clacks with one end room temp and the other end floating around 32, this are long slender tubs, Heaps of room for temp gradient

Use a thermostat as without it the temps achieved will depend upon ambient temperature.

that sounds fine. if the ground is warm the snake will get warm from the ground. it doesnt matter if the air isnt warm enought. another thing to do is put a hid box over the heat mat and that will catch the warm air and make it hotter. make sure the snake has a cool end to :)

i have the heat matt connected to my probe tstat the floor temp is reading 28 as i have the thermomater on the floor of my click clack on the warm side but the air temp on the warm side is only reaching 25.4 so at night that will drop even more, what should i do

when you get it watch it, if it stays at the warm side all the time, it's cold, if it stays at the cool side all the time it's too warm. you can then change the temps 2c at a time up or down.
don't let the floor get over 32c
