Yeah, but i had a bit more fun with my paddlepop stick. You used to be able to stick it in the slot of the old "Telecom" pay phones and after a bit of a jiggle, you would get about $1 of 20 and 10 cent coins. Great for mixed lollies and a couple of credits on 'burnin rubber" or "double dragon".

And did anyone ever lie to their grandpop to drill a hole in a 20c coin so you could use it as a "necklace" but then tie fishing line to it and use it as a lure to get free credits in the older pinnies????

yeah but my brother done the drilling ,and the old black telecom phones just needed a good hit

Hey! Anybody remember threepenny bungers! Big red ones? (You'd have to be a REAL oldie to remember them!). They could blow a tin can 30' in the air or play havoc with a letterbox!

As terrible as it is, you haven't really lived a proper life unless you destroyed a mailbox or two as a teenager, one of the laws of the universe I suppose. My time was after legal fireworks, so we had to be a bit more creative if we wanted to blow stuff up. :D

Yeah, we had a hard time getting the "ready made" bungers, so thats where the internet helped a bit, or we would just concoct our own little remedies....lol

Where I grew up the only things blowing up were bombs

Yep, I remember them well. There used to be a huge empty block of land behind my house back in Woy Woy. On cracker night me and my mates used to take a box of bungers into the paddock and attempt to blow each other up. One particular year there was no moon so it was exceptionally dark. Geez we had a blast (pun intended). It wasn't much fun for my brother though 'cause someones bunger landed in his box and he ended up pretty well running for his life........I look back now and think how stupid that was but s*%t it was fun.

On a less dangerous note (for me anyways) my brother and I both had air rifles and our elderly neighbour was always dobbing us in to mum for all kinds of stuff so we thought we would get him back. We had a mate over and we were using our air rifles (harmlessly) in our backyard and we could see he was looking for something to dob on us for so my brother and me 'cocked' our rifles without any pellets in them (anyone who knows air rifles know without pellets they go off with a bang) and we then 'shot' our mate. Well didn't the s&%t hit the fan over that one. I couldn't walk for a couple of hours by the time mum finished with me. Heck, I even had trouble standing.

I remember when kraft cheese sticks were threepence. I remember when you could wag church and spend your shilling (10 cents) down at the fish and chip shop by buying three scollops for sixpence (5 cents) and playing the pinnies for the other sixpence. Than getting your butt kicked by your mum again for not going to church. Geez Term...what have you started?
