As title states pretty much. I have looked everywhere and I just can’t find any retailer or independent seller that sells wood pieces safe for bearded dragons! Cork wood and bark all cost a ridiculous amount to ship to aus, the best luck I’ve had is finding a guy who sands cypress logs. Is there any way to identify safe woods in the wild? I live in Melbourne and have plenty of natural landscapes near me but I don’t want to risk grabbing a piece of wood that’s not a safe type.

Please help!

Just use wood from fallen branches / off cuts of trees. Give it a squirt to remove the dirt and any possible bugs
(if you're really worried soak it in boiling water). Let it dry out in the Sun. Then put it in the Bearded Dragons enclosure.

This is ideally what I want to do but how do I know that the wood type I pick up is safe? I found some fallen and dry eucalyptus branches, as well as some needlebush branches. I know eucalyptus is possibly toxic to reptiles, so can I use these branches if they don’t seem to have any sap and if I sanitise them properly?

Eucalyptus is great stuff. It's the dominant type of tree across half the continent including the majority of the continent where you have a lot of trees, and it hasn't wiped out the reptiles yet.
