I have a Children's python at the moment, but im looking at getting something bigger, between 2 and 3 metres. Im wondering which one would be better(Easiest to keep, best marks, good temperate, and good eaters). I know Jungles are quite snappy?(from what i've heard), im looking at one of them guys or a Coastal carpet, Bredli's python, MD, Diamond or something else that grows between 2 and 3 metres.
Also if I one it a Sistema tub, how long could keep it in there?
And if you have pics of them and a their enclosure so I can get and idea of what i'll need it would be good, thanks.

i have a baby diamond. they have very beautiful marking if you like some thing pretty. most people say they are harder to keep but i have nothing to compare it to, but its been pretty easy so far:) and i think they get up around 2.5 - 3m. mine is also pretty friendly, so has been a good first snake thus far and think he will stay being a good snake.
hope that helps... i think you should just go for the one you like the best:)

and correct me if i'm wrong but i think they can stay in those tubs for about a year... but i'm not up to that stage yet lol

Thanks. I've been looking a Diamond pythons, and im guessing that all the pythons i've mentioned would need the same set up as each other?

diamonds need it a bit cooler (mine is at about 28 -29 degrees at the hot end and room temp at the other, thats about 18 right now) and also need a uv light.

i think you should save your cash for a mate for your other childreni and maybe another female so you can focus on breeding ,keep what you have don't get another species that cant breed for years but if you have to have a morlia id go for a coastal carpet ,nice size, pretty cheap, good colours, common

good luck

We've get a Stimmie and I feel the same about wanting a bigger snake. I am saving for a Bredli - I've heard great things about their temperament and I think they are really beautiful.

i have had a childrens python and i currently have a diamond python and my diamond has been the best out of both of them, she is 1 and a bit years old and has never bitten once, which was the opposite of what my childrens did. i would reccomend a diamond to anyone great temperament, easy to handle never misses a feed, i have only had one so i dont know what they are all like

get a bhp! theres nothing like aspidites! ive got my one bhp and im hooked (u should see my future buy list!) cant wait until i can keep womas!

Diamonds are great snakes, but you need to be aware of Diamond Python Syndrome. They have more specialised needs than the other Morelia. You can't go wrong with an MD or Bredl - usually those two are recommended as good starters in the mid-size range. BHPs are lovely, but get really huge.

M/D or Bredli Without a doubt!!!!

if you get a diamond there is always the risk of 'diamond syndrome' and coastals are to common for my liking, the most durable pythons (from my experience) are the MD's and the Bredlie's and both have fantastic markings and eat anything you put in front of them (apart from you!!)

oh yeh Thanks for pointing that out BenReyn, Diamond pythons are very difficult to keep in QLD cause of the DPS disease which BenReyn mentiond may kill your snake from stress. You need the right type of enviroment in your enclosure aswell as humidity and temps.

Alright, I love the Diamonds, but not a snake for me just yet. Maybe a few more years, But now I have my eyes set on Coastal carpet python, Inland carpet python or a Northwestern carpet python.
Any advice?
Thanks for your help guys.
