so is the heat lamp on all the time? i'd be inclind to use a heat mat also because constant light will stress him. do you know how heat was applied to him before you got him?

problem with heat mats is they tend to dry the skin on even more, i would recommend ambient temp, just using a ceramic or a infrared. though if you only have a white light bulb just give it a hide and it will be fine.

yeah good idea with the ceramic.

He sounds dehydrated. If he has RI i would be keeping him dry for as long as possible and let him get over the RI first.RI is a lot more dangerous the dry skin.Remove the water bowl but give him the option to drink twice a day.Don't turn up the temp to much it will cause him to get even more dehydrated.
Does he still have discharge from his nose?.

if she is soaking him then it will not be dehydrated.

Thanks for your help Helikaon. Assisted his shed and now all the skin is removed. He didnt like it at all but I think hes ok now. I think ill just leave him alone fore a bit now after all the stress. Next prob is going to be getting him to feed - hasnt had anything to eat since he before he got sick.

In the mean time, ll keep him at 30-32 degrees with the one small water bowl.

Again, thanks for your help.

 It doesn't work like that. The animal has to ingest water to be hydrated.

lol yes it does work like that,,,,, a reptile will absorb more water via the cloacal route then it will ingest.

give it a week or two of high heat and then offer your normal food item if no luck chuck it a quail or a day old chook you may have some success with either of those. if you are worried abotu the Ri and if any symptoms arise, continue soakings,in a closed container the high humidity in the container for the short period of time will act as a mucolytic and help break down and mucous int eh respiratory system. good luck with it all
