Hi guys

had anyone had a beardie retain an egg before , she laid 2 days back adn i can still feel an egg shaped object in her stomach

doesnt seem to be affecting her at all at this stage but I know they cause probs

any beardy breeders/ keepers had this happen before?

sometimes they may finish laying a few days later, though an injection of oxytocin works well on bearies as long as the egg hasn't grown too large to pass through.

wouldnt warm water help? fill a sink with warm water and let her lay in their as it eases it.

Yes, it's happened to one of my females.
It can happen as a result of malnutrition or an odd shaped egg.

My girl was unlucky enough to have the mis-shaped egg ready to come out first so she held in the entire clutch and her ovaries started to rupture, she had an expensive operation to remove her ovaries and she's all better now with a big scar on her belly. (Amazingly she had three ovaries, as opposed to two)

Give it two or three days, if she starts to get lethargic at all take her to the vet stat.
I'd give her a warm bath, be very careful handling that tummy of hers.

Hopefully she'll push it out in a day or so, just make sure she looks alright, once their ovaries rupture they go down hill fast.
