Hey,
I was mowing the lawns at my work today and moved some of the mats that cover the sandpit and found a bunch of Garden Skink eggs, and a Baby Blue Tongue(10 centimetres), had a play with the Bluey before letting him go into the next door swamp through the fence,
Collected up the eggs in a...
Heya!
My brother was helping dad to clean up the yard yesterday and they found a buch of garden skink eggs. They took them inside, and buried them in some dirt from the same spot in a little empty fish tank.
I don't know if they'll hatch - my brother got one out today () and it was...
hey guys,
a few months ago i was given 28 garden skink eggs by a kid down my street doing gardening, he said he got for me as they would probably die in his care, so i have 28 eggs. i have only had 2 die from there so far and the rest look great, the only concern i have is that they are wild...
This is the latest addition to my rapidly growing herp collection. It's a little coastal which came to me by way of the unreleasables register of my local herp society. This little guy hitched a ride south with a grain truck and was almost introducted to a shovel before a worker at the...

A couple of photo's of some striped Diamonds a friend bred last year. These are his holdbacks, the 2 I have were just partially striped so we are hoping it's genetic and that future generations will produce full stripes.
Unreal:)

Just wondering what "suprises" other people have found in their food?
Felt like some calamari, scallops and hot chips today and went and bought some.
I bit into some chips and thought this lot tastes like crap (crapper than usual anyway).
I spat it out and on the chips (or sort of baked into it)...
Hey everyone,
I will be getting a scorpian shortly, and can't decide what to get. I want something that will fit into a 1x1x1 and a full set-up *inc.1x1x1 enclosure* will cost less than 200$. Also any care-sheets or Enclosure pics greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Cheers
:D

This would have to be the best pic i have ever taken of a Herp :P
I found him in my garden , and he didnt want to get off of me
(i'm predicting its a he ) :D
I think i want a skink next :P
They would have to be the most common wild herp out there, but does anybody actually keep or breed them in captivity?
I'm not interested in getting any, just curious...

I'm mostly just into pythons but I'm thinking of getting a little lizard.
What's a relatively low maintenance lizard that would do well in a click-clack sized enclosure ?
Thanks.
I went on the usual walk with my boy the other day and got some photos. Thought I would share because it really is a beautiful place. We didn't find much more than a water skink (golden, I think but not sure, if anyone can I.D i would be happy, a few leaches, birds and fish.
It is still warming...
I thought Punja was going to be in for a treat at my fav herping ground this afternoon.....but alas...it was as boring as I've ever seen it..... nothing...not even the rustle of a common garden skink.
After I literally travelled to the ends of the earth to collect Punja I noticed this...

Was mowing the lawn today and thought about how I first became attracted to keeping herps. Remember being into them all my life. As a kid I thought Eric Worrell was awsome and had the good fortune to meet him when I was about 4 [can barely remember it]. My other greatest influence was a guy...
I know this has been posted time and time again, but my snake (coastal carpet) hasn't fed in 6-8 weeks. It is only about 40cm long and whilst is showing no sign of sickness of discomfort, it is looking a little thinner than before. I am a new herper and don't know how to gauge how skinny or fat...
hi all i went in to my shed and foand thes guys mating thay are garden sun skinks(lampropholis delicata)i only got the one pic they ran off as soon as i took this one
Hi all. At the start of the year I bought my first Tiger Snake. Turns out, I bought her gravid. :D I've never bred snakes before so I was excited to see she had given bith to 27 healthy babies at the start of March. I've been told, with baby pythons, not to feed them untill they shed, which is...
Does anyone have any legal Burton's? The only legal ones i have ever come across were research permit ones. I suspect that due to their difficult husbandry requirements that they are very uncommon within the hobby (due to being picky eaters etc) but just want to gauge their availability.
Thanx
how often do u here of joe blow catching a blue tongue lizard for example, and his kids keeping it in a fishtank or alot of stories ive heard is a shoe box with some green grass on the bottom, people who have had nothing to do much with the reptile side of things dont even realise that u need a...

Wonder how startled the poor little skink has been :)
Yay! Everyone gather round. Last night Mlak Mlak ate on his own, i can't believe it. Ok here is what happened. He was force fed a couple of times then 2 weeks ago he shed and i left him alone except to clean his cage and change water. The last few days i noticed he was losing weight but...
i just walked into my herp room to find that my bourtons legless lizard had got out of his enclosure . to make things worse, some how he snuck his way into the jacky dragon enclosure. the jackys had him surrounded and trying to munch him.
I have got a mate who is new to reptiles and I am helping him out. But we have 2 problem feeders out of about 10 snakes that he got. After a few problems with the others they began to feed. However the Darwin carpet and the spotted still will not feed. Have tried braining pinkies, scenting with...
I have a 5ft x2ft x2ft fish tank that is empty in my lounge room at the moment and I'm stuck for what to put in it. Too much choice!
So if you had your choice, what would it be? Maybe I can narrow it down from there ;)
My daughter has decided she would like a lizard now.
Any suggestions, she has a 2ft tank, something that doesnt sleep in the sand all day and night
We are beginners:D
check it out. i had a visitor to my house which is up in the Gold Coast hinterland...i had a BBQ and wondered what the staffy was barking at....turns out a young carpet came along for the tunes and a meal! he/she slunk off after people taking photos though. have a feeling it hangs out in the...
Just an article about some kids who went and killed a Brownsnake in their back yard.
You might notice at the bottom of the article you are able to leave a comment, please do so. Just couldn't help myself.

Hi all,
I'm wondering whether anyone can positively ID a small skink I picked up in Sydney yesterday? (I don't have access to Ken Griffiths book right now unfortunately... I should have picked up the new edition when I was in the bookshop yesterday. Doh.)
My most likely guess is the common...
i have a clutch of childrens that i am giving their first feed today. what is the best way to do it? And if u have had experience doing this what was the easiest/most succesful way?
hey all,:D i was just wondering, does anyone know what garden skink eggs look like at all because i rescued about 6 skinks from under our decking, that we are re-building at the moment, and placed them in a 2ft x 1ft x 1ft tank that has been made to their natural habitat and have had them for...
i was moving some old bricks today and came upon some garden skink eggs as soon as we disturbed them the mother ran away, but the bricks still had to be moved i was thinking of trying to get the eggs to hatch myself (if nothing else it would be a great little project for the kids) i am not sure...
In the 5 years of living at my place I've never once seen any herps, apart from the odd garden skink and a little gecko that comes to visit my kitchen window every summer. Last week I was gardening and got a call from my next door neighbour telling me she'd found a lizard in her yard. I thought...
I was hoping someone could recommend a good reptile vet anywhere in Sydney but the closer to inner west suburbs the better.
I got 2 yearling childreni about 6 weeks ago from the same clutch of eggs. One of them has been feeding and growing excellently, but the other is not :? I worry I'm...
Hmmmmmm - need I say anything?
On another note I swear I have rescued the same garden skink three times from out of the house. I know because his tail has grown out a little more each time and he has the same spot on his back! Is this skink dumb or does he just like flirting with death??
Thought it would be a interesting topic for a thread as many of us have them living in our backyards. I never really noticed anythign eating them before untill the grey shrike thrushes arived. not that great to look at a grey colour but thier calls are quite amazing. I now regularly see them...
