Half a clutch of pale marbles, they should turn out nice and light/white. The rest have hatched out since this picture was taken earlier in the week, there are some really nice ones in the clutch.

An orange baby having its first feed, and a 100% het marble clutch mate having his first feed.

More marbles are hatching every day now, and the last eggs have only just gone into the incubator!

How accurate would your predictions with the adult colour of the light/white babies be usually?

You're asking how well I can predict adult colour based on hatchling colour? The background colour is reasonably predictable from a fairly young age, although the amount of peppering and pixelation (the two main types of patterning on marbles) is difficult to predict. The colour of the pattern is difficult to predict at hatching but becomes quite obvious early on. Having said that, marbles in general tend to be a really good morph at throwing surprises at you! Very fun morph to work with!

Yeah I was asking about the background colour, if that's at least predictable then honestly the randomness with the rest of it is pretty exciting and makes each individual unique!

Yeah, we get more and more each year as we select for them. That clutch did hatch quite orange, we might keep one or two from it. A few years ago when we first hatched them with that colour we were extremely excited.
