Hey just curious...is there a "right way" to handle a baby beardy?? I want to be able to get him out of his enclosure but he freaks out when I try to get him out, he opens his mouth real wide and even tries to bite me! Or he just keeps running around away from me, which is weird because I can hand feed him.... I just don't want to be too pushy with him, I try to at least pick him up inside his enclosure every couple of days to get him used to it, but he just really isn't fond of the idea. I took him out not long ago and had him in the lounge...as soon as I sat down he lept out of my hand and bolted across the floor top speed and I had to do a flying leap (much like you would see on a sports field) to catch him again...I do find his antics amusing to a certain degree, but still frustrating...oh hes only a few months old too, if that helps too....

Thanks:D

Most baby beardies do this, try leaving him for a few weeks and see if he settles down. Imagine if you were a small beardie and you saw big hands coming down to pick you off the ground. You wouldn't really be fond of that.

As he gets bigger he will calm down.

Yes my beardie is doing the same thing, so I am just letting him be for a couple of weeks. Not even hand feeding him yet. Don't want to spook him.

Just picked him up yesterday, he is 8 weeks old.
