I am new at keeping snakes. Yesterday I feed my Juvenile Jungle for the first time. I left the fuzzy out of the freezer for a day in a plastic container. Before feeding I put the container in some warm water to try and get some heat into it, but it leaked and I got a soaky mouse that split in half...
I tried it anyway and the snake took it! and even ate the bottom half that fell off.
My poor snake got a messy soggy feed
There has to be a better way to Thaw out the frozed fuzzy mice, so they are dry and warm!
Please let me know what you do?

its winter put then on a plate with some sort of cover and put thm in the sun for 1hour on a warm day thats what i do;)

yucky, dont leave it out you goose!! it can create alot of bacteria, just hot water from the tap, pour into a jug, drop it in there, wait a few minutes, and away you go :)

do you charge extra for sun ripened mice :p :p

i put mine in a cup and run it under mild to hot water then let it sit in the water for about 15 then lay it on a paper towel for 5. he seems to love it:)

well mine have done that for about 1month and there fine but thanks for the heads up. i guess everyone makes mistakes:) i might go back to hot water.

i chuck mine in a plastic zip lock bag and chuck it in a container fill it with hot water and yer thats it, putting it in the snap lock bag keeps it nice and dry :) works for me

freezer bag in a mug of hot water, fuzzy doesnt take long, small/weaner rats are taking about 15-20, but using a thin bag like a freezer bag instead of a zip lock bag helps speed it up

Zip lock bag is best, but getting food items wet is no big deal, just paper towell item dry. Little bit wet is fine but the important thing is defosted totally. Wait till your little guy gets onto big rats :)

Feed them wet , its a good way to ensure they get some hydration ....

Totally - no need to dry them off at all. Leaving it out for a day - that's ridiculous! Would you eat something meaty with the guts in if it had been on a bench at room temperature for hours? No wonder it broke in half. Just drop into hot water for 5 minutes, remove from the hot water and offer to the snake.
