BHP inhaled water

I was watching my BHP drinking and noticed that he seemed to have inhaled some water.
He was making wheesing sounds and shaking his head and rubbing the front of his face on his log, like he would if he was trying to shed his skin, immediately after having a drink.

Now i am concerned that this could lead to an RI.
I will watch him very closely over the next few days but does anyone know or have an idea of how long it will take him to show symptoms if an RI does develop?
Any other advice woul also be appreciated.

how is your snake acting now, it might have choked. if it looks ok now it should be fine, keep an eye out over the next couple of days.

you should up the temps by a couple of degrees which will help fight RI if it does get it

he sounds fine, mine sometimes does that when i give her a bath. if there are any further complications send me a pm

Snakes have evolved over millions of years to survive. I just can't see one inhaling water now and choking. My thoughts are if it is wheezing then it may have had a RI prior to drinking the water. Don't go raising temperatures yet. Don't do anything but observe how it goes over the next few days. Better yet if it still hasn't stopped tomorrow take it to a vet on Monday.

It only made the weezimg sound when it first inhaled the water, like it was trying to blow the water out, almost like a sneeze, but had not done it prior to drinking or since.
Will keep watching him and see what happens
