Good day all,

My 4yo Carpet Python has managed to push back/tear a section of scales from his nose trying to push through the wires on his cage i assume (cage isn't ideal, im aware, but waiting on a large tank enclosure)
His been in the cage for a few weeks now and has never been an issue but noticed it yesterday and got worse overnight.

Should i be looking at self care with some Neosporin or take him to a vet? Moving him into his feeding tub for now just incase. Doesnt seem like its bothering him too much and theres no blood/flesh exposed. There isnt a reptile vet in my area and im about to go on holiday for a week, so any advice would be appreciated.

Injuries like this generally heal up without any issue other than leaving a scar, but obviously you want to get the snake into more appropriate housing ASAP.

I'd be very worried the snakes face could be injured more while you go on holidays.
