My 2 yr old centralian python has got a large bulge in her belly right down near her cloaca. Not sure what's wrong with her. Doesn't seem to be bothering her, but it looks quite bad. The bulge is 1 1/2 times the size of the rest of her body. Any ideas?

Photos would be most helpful. A big bunch of urates would feel hard if you gently felt around the area. Does her centre seem to be bulging or is it subcutaneous? Is it lopsided or midline? I had a bredl female who would hold onto faeces for a very long time before the dam broke and she made a real mess of the enclosure. It was not a distinct swelling, but looked like a bulging at the cloaca when she was relaxed on a branch.

No, this is a distinct swelling. I only bought her about a month ago and the previous owner only fed her just under a week before I picked her up. She hasn't pooed since I've had her, and he can't remember when she last went. There are a few hard spots in the bulge and the rest just feels bloated. Will try and get pics uploaded as soon as I can. APS is very slow for this.

I let my woma out and let it have a stroll around the garden then eventually she'll do a poo. around 5 days after a feed. but I don't know if that's a good thing to do with a small hatchy

Try soaking her in a warm bath hold her head up and allow her body to swim as such ,sometimes the swimming movement can set it off, if she doesnt poo in the water take her out onto SHORT GRASS as she is a small snake you dont want to lose her ..and allow her to slither across the lawn this usually helps stimulate the snake ...if you dont have any luck at all ..then maybe a good vet check up should be on the cards ..

Still hasn't done a poo. We put her in a warm bath the other night, and then sat her on a towel in the loungeroom to dry off and she left us a tiny little present, but haven't been able to get anything out of her since. Have got a vet booking for friday, but hoping I won't have to take her to that

Heat is sitting at 26. She was in an enclosure all by herself, and is too young to breed anyway. Just had her out on the grass for half an hour in the sun trying to see if that would work, but she wouldn't cruise around. Spent the whole time in attack position. Still no poo :(
