Hi guys, my Stimmie just shed his skin and there are some major problems, I've had him for two years and have never had shedding problems before. Not only did uric acid come out attached with the skin but also inside the skin was a pocket of fluid. My guess is that it could be proteinaceous fluid. Can someone tell me what to do.

Often a snake will defecate while shedding, your general description sounds
like this might be the case if so it isn't a problem.

Is the fluid encapsulated or just some liquid inside the slough? They excrete liquid as well as the more solid uric acid and our stimson generally has both inside her sloughs. Is there any retained shed that you are worried about, or is it only the fluid?

The fluid is encapsulated and broke when I touched it.

sounds like a sperm plug. .

i know my male beardies will occasionally shed a sperm plug or two.

OK maybe i've never seen this before, because by the time i've seen it in the past all the fluid probably dried up. I guess there's nothing to worry about. Thnx guys, and no there is no retained skin.
