When my son was little we lived on an aboriginal land rights claim belonging to my DILs grandmother. Oak always refused to call the men black fellas even though he had heard it a million times, he maintained they were brown fellas (pronounced fullas). We were shopping in Coffs Harbour one day and he points at this guy and says "check that brown fulla out." Another time my ex's bro was bush walking with him and a bunch of Chinese tourists were walking by and he said to him "Look at the Chinese masters", they thought it was hilarious.

How can anyone not know where milk comes from? Its common sense, Ive known since I was 4 :?

How is it common sense? If you'd never been told about it you would just think milk comes in bottles from the supermarket like any other drink

Yeah I was just thinking...assuming we drink the secretions from another species isn't common sense :p

when i was little i used to call 1 of my grandads skinny grandad and the other fat grandad to their faces and they used to love it haha =P i didnt say it in a bad way so guess thats why

Well I assumed the kid in the first post was at least school age, and surely theyd know. Dont they watch TV?
Its worse that some adults dont know about milk!

Oh my gosh, my son is the Embarrassment King! He's five now and still does it too often for my liking. :/
But the one that will never leave my memory is this; when he was almost 3, I had to use a public toilet when we were out. All of a sudden he turns around and pipes up with "mum! You've got poo on your undies!"
I was wearing Winnie the Pooh underwear.
Horrifying!
He's also done the usual pointing out of over-weight people in public, or he asked me once when standing in a que at Coles why the man behind us only had one arm. It's amazing how you all of a sudden don't mind remembering that you forgot something at a time like that :/

BAHAHAHA so funny.

My kids , whenever we see a dwarf..they shout out really loudly LOOK MUM THERES A DWARF! Sooo embarrassing...

...not as clueless as my friends mum who is over 40 and did not know she need a passport to travel to Europe;)

lol, the second one reminded of what i did when i was younger
there was this large lady getting out of the lift with red hair, and it was pretty obvious it was painted (i.e. brick red)
anywho, being the little innocent lad that i was i poked my sister and said to her plainly (and rather loudly), "now THAT's a redhead... wow did you see that? Its sooo red!!!"

pretty sure the lady gave me a death stare...

I can top that ... My old sales manager was a 40 yr old Chinese man. He has lead the most sheltered life ever.
He was amazed to hear that you could make pancakes. He thought you had to buy them from the supermarket... Ummm...ok...
He came to work one morning and pulled me aside to ask me what his back looked like. He lifted his shirt and I near had a heart attack. It looked like someone had slashed him about 10 times with a knife.
Not quite what had happened; his back was itchy so he used his wife's meat knife to scratch it. Only he used the blade to do so :/
It wasn't until he went to leave home that his wife saw all the blood all over the back of his white business shirt and freaked out that he even realized.
I've never met anyone like him; sure was good for a laugh

She is 9, & yes, i 2 thought that she would 'just know'........its never came up in conversation at home before though so i guess i have never had to explain it to her. My 6y.o son on the other hand did know, he was told at school, so he was making fun of his 'dumb sister' for the rest of the day! They still ask me what meats are what animals too, it may be common sense to us, but they are kids, learning is all apart of growing up........my daughter is a bit of alright, leave her alone! :p She is a straight A student, working at a yr 7 level in yr 4.......so what she didnt know where the milk comes from, she is still a legend! :D

Im not calling her dumb Im just saying I found it strange she didnt know, but I know its been mentioned by other people that even some adults dont know.
Dont think Im picking on her :p

We are off to stay with the family in the country these hoildays, my girl is not only going to see where milk comes from she is going to do some milking herself!

omg if i had a kid that came to me saying the ocean is rising from the ground i would play along with it and really freak em out lol

when my darling niece was 3 we were walking through a very crowed mall and she ever so sweetly said to me " wow look at all the bogans!"

we got out of thewre quick smart LOL

this is last week keep in mind my daughter is 14 years old.
We were in Coles and i asked at the deli what flavour the marinated chicken kebabs were
my daughter says chicken
i said yes i know they are chicken kebabs but what flavour is the sauce on them and she says
chicken mum its chicken sauce cos chicken meats too small to put on kebabs so they use cow as meat and put chicken sauce on it to make it chicken kebabs

needless to say i just patted her arm and told her she would make a great trophy wife ( pretty to look at and nothing in the head) and left her looking confused
