im soo peeved i missed it. I was waiting and waiting and waiting for my dad to come pick me up so we could go to melbourne. What's happened? Gone to the pub and locked his damn keys in the boot of his car. GRRRRR. lol, ah well. next time.

does the girl who bought the enclosure and the hockey table come on here? also the red headed woman who was bidding on a few things? they are about the only faces from the crowd i actually remember lol.

Wasn't it just! What a priceless evening. Just seeing all of those well known Australian herpers all in the one room at the one time make me feel that I was a special part of Aussie Herp History myself!!!

I agree! What a spectacular night!! I was thrilled to meet these well known herpers from interstate ..., yet this is part of an email I received from one of them this morning, it looks like they were impressed with Brian as well:

"Hi Judy, It was great meeting you last night. You are a lovely lady and I enjoyed your company. Wasn't it a great night. Seeing all those photos of the old herp guys was a real walk down memory lane. I can remember plenty of times herping with quite a few of them (and boozing on.) Brian's a legend and it was great to see a big turnout for him. The Vic. herp club was a terrific club under him, he's a tireless worker and it showed in the membership numbers in his day. Hopefully the club keeps going strong."

It was a great crowd too. VHS committee did well organizing the refreshments with lots of pizza, drink , nibblies available. Now on to the photos we took...

It is very obvious from those comments that you know them well. It was great to put a face to some of the names.

Hi Baz post some more pics. You were snapping all night.

Phil aka Afro is pretty entertaining during auctions and most other times, but like Zoe has stated. DONT TELL HIM as it only encourages him.

By the way Congrats goes to Zoe (Ouzo) and Luke (Soulweaver). Luke do you know what you are getting yourself in for? Life changes for ever

Shamus, most of my pics were blurred, not worth posting unfortunatly..Thats what happens when you mix alcohol and cameras,
Only had a couple of beers but that was enough to affect the pics.I am spewing.
This was certainly a night to remember and i want to thank Brian for his talk and slideshow.
Brought back heaps of memories with the old pics of herping in drape coats.studded belts and pointy toed shoes, the cars..and with moments of great humor and wisdom that only comes from a few years of experience, he kept the crowd enthralled for the whole time.
so thanks for that.
Great to meet people i have only spoken to on the computer or the phone to.
