Hey all,

My bluey just shed and I was picking up the skin from around his enclosure, I found 3 tiny tiny tiny (less than 1/2 mil) reddish orange colored things crawling around.

Are these mites? I thought mites were black...

If they are mites, what do I need to do to get rid of them, I havent been handling any other reptiles and havent taken Zero out of his enclosure for about a week.

If they arent mites, any idea what they might be?

Thanks!

ps- I just pulled Zero out to have a good look at him, absolutely nothing was moving on him

ok i don't no what mites look like can u please tell us what is the substrate, what type of enclosure and bath zero to see if anything falls off as they will drowned,

they could be thrip.
Have you had the window open on a hot day ?
they will be attracted to the water check around the edge of the water bowl.

could be red spider mites, I know birds can get them, when we had a bluey a few years ago his enclosure got them from our canary. you could use TOD to get rid of them

I dont have a bird.. Zero's cage sits near a window that is always closed.. theres nothing around the edges of his waterbowl o_O

Mul, I put him in some lukewarm water, nothing came off him at all.

His substrate is the small pieces of repti-bark
