No, I think the lesson is when offered good cheap herps grab em quick. Other lesson are always have a spare enclosure, eat your veggies and listen to your mum

I wouldn't feel too bad about missing out. The price was cheap for water pythons, but if they're snappy they may well never tame down. IMHO it's best to shop around and get good water pythons, rather than cheap ones (this is the case with all snakes, but especially waters, some will just never tame). If you're planning to keep the snakes for their lifetime, an extra $100-$200 is nothing. A good water python is a brilliant snake, but some will just bite and defecate all over you and are as obnoxious as snakes get. Most of the insane ones will eventually tame down, but some won't.
