Tuition for sexing snakes

Nothing derogative there my good friend. I just asked you a simple question.

I was curious if you only compared it to 1 single model of probe or many?
I know there is plenty of different manufacturers and was wondering how many sources you actualy compared yours to. Thats all

Ok so we have established that probing a snake definatly is not as easy as sticking a little metal rod down the butthole, sorry cloaca, of your snake and explained why this is so.

Thus it has to be a good thing.

My request still stands, I would be indebted to anyone who could show me how to probe a snake properly if I don't find time to get to my vet first. I live in the NE suburbs (I know I mentioned that but evidence on other threads suggests it is worth mentioning again).

I have just received a call whilst typing this reply from some one who states he can sex larger snakes but not so sure about little ones....

I DID NOT COMPARE ANYTHING!!!!! I just posted an idea how to make your own probes. I included the other one in the picture because I said in my post that that is a very good quality probe. Give me a break!

Just make sure you probe in the right direction else you will get males everytime lol.
Heavy gauge suture works well with small snakes.

Not necessary to sterilise anything used for probing.The thing with suture is it is a bit more forgiving than rigid probes.

When David Vella has probed my snakes, he used thin silicone tube dipped in lubricant. Worked a treat and seemed pretty gentle based on the snakes' reactions. Then again, they were all at least 2 years old, not hatchlings...
