Hi all

I have a few ideas on how this could have happened i have just recently changed my substrate from sand to synthetic grass. up until now he has eaten well but he twitches his head and shy s away from the mouse i have no idea this is my first snake and i am freaking out! and he has passed
all meals

...

Is he coming up for a shed?

Does he have a respiratory infection? (listen closely to him breathing for a wheeze, you can also feel it on the underside of the snake in the right place)

Anyone else?

Obviously, if properly worried, you can take him to a decent snake vet and have him checked out.

all of the above +

enclosure size?
temps?
setup?
how was its last shed, was it a clean shed? is it due for another?
any other changes besides substrate?

Stimmies quite often go off their food for long periods, mine has just taken her first meal in 8 months, in that time she hardly lost any condition at all.
Having said that you might want to get it checked out just in case therei s something wrong.

ive got a carpet python here that hasnt eaten for 1 year, months is nothing

Or it can be everything. I had a black and gold jungle female go off her food for about 2 months. She looked a bit listless (without energy). Wouldn't take mice. Wouldn't take rats. When she wouldn't take day old chicks either, I took her to the vet.

She had a tumour that was implicating her bowel, pancreas, etc. etc. and couldn't eat.

Kane.

(Tried to remove tumour by operation but incompatible with survival to do so - snake died day after operation).
