omg just imagine if you could delivery guy driving around with beardies pythons elapids id quit ! imagine a brown escaping its box

the best part after working for aussie post for 14 years, is stuffing it under the door when your not home, you have to get them nice and flat or squash them to get it into your letter box :lol::lol::lol:
oh and if it says DO NOT BEND we're all blind and can't read either :p

I know of someone who was sent a couple of young tigers in a mailing tube some years ago. They were fine when they arrived and they lived for many years after that.

Where is the logic? Squashing crickets is ok but squashing beardies isn't?

Yeah there are some weirdos about, my goannas would happily eat squashed beardies but squashed crickets, eww... thats just nasty.

Everyone take note - never sell anything to midnightserval:lol::lol:

Hey! I dont gip anyone, although it would be tempting if someone was dumb enough to sent in a regular post parcel by COD. WHo wouldnt run? Hehe
But then what kind of posties wouldnt notice the bag wriggling and making its way across the floor?

So how do people send Tarantulas??? There is a guy on petlink sending them through Express post, is that allowed???

You may send some insects/silkworms with no permits but crickets require a permit depending how anal you aus post is

Insects are a bit different. Up until recently you could send bees, silkworms and something else, possibly crickets. A little while back the laws changed, to allow people to send other live inverts. The problem is, while it is now technically legal to send tarantulas, etc, through the express system, it doesn't seem to have filtered through to the post offices yet. It often takes about a weeks worth of phone calls to organise it, would be so much easier if the staff actually knew their own legislation. They don't like it when you present them with the contact numbers of their relevant superiors and ask them to ring up and check.

Just on the phone to Australia Post.... bees, leeches and silkworms are the only live animals that can be sent through the post.
