I'm going to have one more roll of the dice here and leave it!
So let me get this right!
First there was Adam!
Then, there was Eve!
From Eve was born Cain & then Abel, am I right so far?
Cain kills Abel
Cain is banished, or hides from God or something in the land of Nod - right?
He finds a wife? Where? His Mother? What's going on? Supposedly Adam & Eve were meant to have had other children, a daughter and another son? How am I doing? right so far? It's the only logical bridge that spans that great big hole I was talking about!
Apparently Cain knew his wife, according to the Good Book - perhaps it was his sister, and not his Mother? Where?s the difference either way?
The Bible is riddled with hints of incest everywhere, so it doesn't surprise me that this is quite possible - I didn't have to look far to find this! Quote;
Genesis 19:32-36 Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father. And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose. Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father. And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose. Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father.
What in blazes is that? I will
not endeavor to keep responding to this post as I don't want to annoy people with what I believe - please don't consider this as an act of ignorance or arrogance. I've had years subjected to the rantings of the Catholic Church, before my schooling, during my schooling - I know my stuff ? and pretty damn well IMO!! Perhaps I got tired of hearing this very Catholic rant of, believe or burn in hell! The fundamental basis of their belief.
Christianity as a whole isn't very old, if anything, compared to many other beliefs it is very, very new. There is nothing wrong, as I have written before, with leading a Christian life, but make it a useful one! Don't spend your days in a church saving your own skin - that's selfishness, and always frowned upon in Biblical teachings! Go out and do something Christian, and with that I don't mean burning innocent women alive or drowning them during witch-hunts, or perhaps taking indigenous children away form their families because their upbringing doesn't fit our mould of the way things should be! But go out and help people in need, get involved in charities, fundraising for the Children?s Hospital etc, but don't waste your days fearing & defending something that may not be there for the sake of being righteous and proper!
